From the heart of Bordeaux, France, the G d'Estournel hails from the Saint Estèphe appellation on the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary. This wine is produced by the esteemed Château Cos d’Estournel, known for its bold architectural flair and rich heritage dating back to the 19th century. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, the estate embodies a meticulous, terroir-driven approach to winemaking, crafting wines of structure and elegance.
Wine Description
This 2022 vintage presents a deep ruby hue with violet reflections. On the nose, it exudes fragrant notes of ripe blackberries, cassis, and violets, complemented by nuances of cedar, graphite, and a subtle hint of mocha. The palate is medium to full bodied with fine tannins and remarkable balance. Flavours of dark cherry, plum, and crushed stones unfold gracefully, supported by fresh acidity and a persistent mineral-laced finish.
Food Pairing
Ideal with grilled lamb chops seasoned with rosemary, roasted duck breast, or mushroom risotto with truffle oil. The wine’s structure and savoury depth make it a superb partner to umami-rich dishes. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
